Tucked away in the lush Volta Region near the Togo border, Wli Waterfalls is the tallest waterfall in West Africa and one of Ghana's most spectacular natural wonders. The journey to the falls is just as rewarding as the destination itself.
The lower falls trail is a moderate 45-minute hike through tropical forest, crossing streams and surrounded by the sounds of hundreds of fruit bats. The upper falls require a more challenging 2-3 hour trek with a local guide, but the panoramic views from the top are absolutely worth the effort.
Best visited during the rainy season (May to October) when the falls are at their most powerful, Wli Waterfalls offers a refreshing escape from the heat and a chance to connect with Ghana's incredible natural landscapes.
